From the moment I walked in, this restaurant delivered an unforgettable experience. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between warm and elegant, making it ideal for both special occasions and relaxed nights out. Every detail feels intentional, from the inviting décor to the genuinely welcoming staff who make you feel at home right away. The food is nothing short of exceptional. Each dish is beautifully presented and bursting with flavor, clearly crafted with care and high-quality ingredients. I really enjoyed the prawns, vongole pasta and the mussels. Service was outstanding throughout the meal. Attentive without being intrusive, the staff anticipated our needs and offered spot-on recommendations that elevated the experience even more. It’s rare to find a place that gets everything so right. Special shout out to David, who made the night unforgettable. This is the kind of restaurant you can’t wait to recommend to friends and return to again and again. Truly a gem that stands out for its food, service, and overall experience.
WARNING 👇🏽 We visited for dinner last night. The front of house service was friendly, we were seated at the bar while waiting for a table and the cocktails were excellent. The spanner crab cakes were delicious but the coq au vin was ok at best. The issue was with the ordering process. We ordered the half lobster spaghetti listed on the menu for $125. Later, a staff member informed us there had been a “miscommunication” and only the full lobster for $220 was available. We declined and asked to remove it. The manager then sat down at our table without asking and offered the full lobster for $175, explaining that they weren’t doing halves because the lobsters were “too small” and also claiming that the full portion included “extra lobster,” which was contradictory given the small lobster explanation. What made this more concerning is that we spoke with other diners that night who ordered the same full lobster and were not offered any discounted price, which suggests that the discount was not a genuine policy but rather an inconsistent upsell attempt. If the half portion is unavailable, that should be communicated upfront and if the full can be discounted, that should be offered transparently to all guests - not selectively. The cocktails and bar staff were great, but the inconsistency, lack of transparency and upselling approach felt unprofessional and left a poor impression.
I had my anniversary dinner here with my partner. First of all, the atmosphere and vibe was so romantic and intimate - I loved the decors! Service was quick and professional. We were late to our booking as we took some wrong turns getting into Surry Hills so I called them up to tell them that and was told that was fine but we will just lose a bit of our eating time (our booking was for 5:30pm to 7:30pm, and we got there at 6pm). That was fine by me and I was grateful as some restaurants have a grace period and may cancel your booking if you’re late. Food came out sooooo fast! We ordered by 6:15pm and ended up finishing our meals and leaving just before 7:30pm! Food was soooo yummy - my favourite was the duck breast and rigatoni. Their signature chocolate bar was also super delicious! The staff also gave us extra treats for our anniversary which I don't have a photo of but it made our dinner very special :) I also recommend their pandan cocktail - it was sososo yummy! I hope to come back again soon!
My partner and I had an incredible dining experience at Amorica in Surry Hills. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere felt warm, intimate, and perfect for a special night out. The service was professional, welcoming, and everything came out beautifully presented. We started with the Angus beef tartare topped with crisp kipfler potatoes and horseradish cream. Fresh, balanced, and full of texture — the perfect way to begin the night. For mains, the lamb rigatoni was rich, tender, and packed with flavour. Easily one of the best pasta dishes we’ve had in Sydney. Then we shared the Jack’s Creek grain-fed Black Angus 3+ steak with Café de Paris butter, cooked flawlessly — juicy, flavourful, and one of those dishes that instantly becomes a favourite. The sides were just as impressive: • Creamed spinach — silky and comforting. • Grilled fioretto with pistachio & parmesan — unique, crunchy, and perfectly seasoned. For dessert, we tried both of their signatures. The Amorica chocolate box was indulgent and beautifully crafted, but the absolute standout of the night was the Bombe Alaska. This has quickly become one of our favourite desserts in all of Sydney. The layers inside were perfect, the meringue was torched to perfection, and each bite was nostalgic and exciting at the same time. It’s a must-order. Overall, Amorica delivered from start to finish. Incredible food, amazing service, stunning presentation — we’ll definitely be coming back.
The Mog Champ sends his regards. A la carte for two big birthdays as a group of 6 on a Sunday night. French is definitely for one of those special occasions for us and we enjoyed the food, service and general vibe! We ordered about $120 worth of food per person here which was a good amount for us. All the dishes came out quite timely, staff are quick and friendly. A lot of different dishes we don't usually have like the Escargot Garlic Bread which was delicious. Overall, it was a fantastic night of dining. Thanks for the dinner Armorica! Mogliest Regards, Your Mog Champ
