Took my wife there to try the French cuisine for her birthday. Had a lovely experience and the great customer service. The food is very tasty and highly recommended.
Came here recently and ordered the escargot, pate de Champagne, Moreton bay bugs with prawns bisque, the seared foie gras, the confit of duck, Wagyu rump, soufflé and the apple tarte. Of all the dishes, the Morton Bay bugs were probably the one that stood out the most and the soufflé was very good. Everything else was okay but nothing that stood out as amazing. The duck was a bit dry, the foie gras didn't have the strong fragrance and aroma that one would expect from it, the escargot I felt was nothing ordinary. Table service was decent but personally I found being given only the drinks menu and only the food menu after you have ordered drinks was a bit awkward since I don't really drink alcohol and the drinks menu didn't have any non-alcoholic options. The toilet was a little dirty and had a strong arid smell. Price-wise, it was about $140 pp. Towards the end of the dinner, we were asked to move tables as they had booked our table for another group while we were waiting for dessert. There were other tables that seemed available so we thought asking us to move a bit strange...
Such an amazing restaurant, 100% recommend. Quite pricey, but super high quality food and worth it for special occasions or a date night. The waitress’s/waiters are lovely and offer great service, very friendly and very aware of the customers and their needs. I ordered the confit of duck, both times I visited because it was so incredibly delicious, never thought I would eat anything like it and love it so much. The bread on the side is AMAZING, they bake it fresh in the oven. My only thing would be the lighting is a little harsh right above the table that we sat at. The first time I was there the lighting was warmer and more dim which is preferable (visited on 30/07/25). The second visit (06/08/2025), the lighting was more harsh but honestly that’s nit picking. Will be back!!
Yesterday we went to Boucher French Bistro! On average, we’d rate it around a 3.5. The food was generally good, but considering the prices and the fact that it’s a French specialty restaurant, we were expecting a bit more. For the entrée, we had the beetroot, horseradish and dill cured salmon with grilled polenta. The polenta was amazing : I loved it! The sauce around it, however, lacked flavour. Presentation-wise, though, it was excellent (as you can see 😄). For the main, I had the Angus beef, which I really enjoyed. Everything on the plate was delicious, yes, even though I had it well done, which many people would judge me for 😂. I’d give the flavour a 5, but I expected a bit more from the veggies on the plate considering the price. I also ordered the honey salad, which was good, nicely seasoned. My partner had the bouillabaisse and said he loved the sauce and really appreciated the dish overall, but the scallops and prawns were slightly overcooked, which brought the experience down a bit for us. We shared the Lindt chocolate soufflé for dessert, and that was a win! The ice cream came with some crumble at the bottom, and the melting chocolate on top was absolutely delicious. Definitely worth trying! Now, about the staff, we had read reviews beforehand, and there were quite a few complaints about service. But honestly, we had a great experience. Most of the staff seemed young, but they were supportive, attentive, quick with our orders, kept our drinks filled, and did their job really well. They’re not the super chatty, coffee-shop-style staff, but they were friendly and professional, totally fitting for the environment. So I don’t understand the low ratings on that. Parking was easy. The atmosphere was nice — a bit dark (but that seems to be a French restaurant thing? Haha no real complaints there). I was just in a slightly unstable chair 😅. Overall, it’s a nice spot!
Came here for a friend’s birthday and all four of us got the degustation menu with wine pairing. It’s fairly hard to fault much from this meal I really loved the cooked oysters, it was like taking a warm mouthful of the sea. Likewise, the second seafood course was absolutely stunning with great subtle seafood notes. The terrain was tasty, although probably not as lavish as the rest. My only criticism would probably be that the final two courses were quite similar, a lamb and a beef course both cooked rare with vegetables and dressing. I would’ve liked something a little bit more imaginative, especially when after the other. The dishes however were great. The wine pairings were really quite on the nose generous servings and each complimented their paired course very well.
