Tucked away from the noisy main strip, this wine & cocktail bar has an elegant, sexy atmosphere that’s absolutely perfect for date nights. The lighting is low and flattering, the music sits right in the background, and the space feels intimate without being cramped. The wine list is thoughtfully curated, not overwhelming, and the staff actually know what they’re talking about — great recommendations whether you’re into bold reds or something lighter. Cocktails are beautifully balanced, not overly sweet, and clearly crafted with intention. What really stands out is the vibe: calm, confident, and grown-up. You can actually hear each other talk. It’s ideal for a first date, an anniversary, or those “just us tonight” evenings. Service is warm and unpretentious — attentive but never hovering. You can tell this place is run by people who care about the experience, not just the volume. If you’re local and looking for a classy, romantic spot that feels special without trying too hard, this is it. Definitely one of my top recommendations when friends ask for a proper date-night bar.

Really amazing place. Service was great. The beer I had was an experience. Edit: place is so good I came back two days later. Owner was amazing at accommodating the big group I was part of, answered all our questions and the food was great (Duck l’Orange and Seafood Chowder). Highly recommended. Please open in Sydney!

A rare gem in Geelong, Fantome is a must-visit; where refined service meets the charm of regional hospitality.
