The venue was quite busy during lunch service. We came with high expectations for both the food and the service; however, some aspects did not fully meet those expectations. The bread was not warm, the beef tartare was underwhelming, and the crab tartlet was not our preferred choice for an entrรฉe. That said, we did enjoy the main courses, particularly the swordfish and the sirloin, which were well prepared. Our attendant was polite, though the level of attentiveness could have been improved. We also noticed that the venue and duty managers appeared engaged in conversation rather than checking on guests. The sea-front view is certainly a highlight of the venue. Overall, while the setting is pleasant, our experience did not reflect a five-star standard, and we are unlikely to return. If youโre planning to celebrate anniversary or any occasion, I donโt recommend.
Ambience & service: ๐ฏ Food: The charred carrot is the standout dish. The Waldorf salad is refreshing and I loved the candied walnuts, but the lettuce was very bitter, so I wouldnโt reorder it. The pasta is light and not too heavy, but Iโve had better pastas elsewhere. Would like to try the other menu items.
Gibney is a wonderful restaurant! The food was delicious, amazing view, and wonderful service from Harry. The crab tartlet was delicious, as was the lobster spaghetti. The Caesar salad is actually a real treat, the fellow puts it together in front of you with some theatre to it. And the chocolate cake is made from real Bahen dark chocolate, I think inhouse. The only shortcoming for me were the cocktails, they were a little average for the price. Definitely a great place for a special occasion.
Visited Gibney for lunch and really enjoyed everything we ordered on the menu. - The toothfish super fresh and had amazing flavours. - Steak was tender and cooked perfectly - Oyster mushroom pasta was also really good Service was very good and attentive Note to Gibney-Minor ciritique was that we were sat outside next to the door and it was constantly swinging by every couple seconds. Probably best to keep that door open so it's more pleasant.
Atmosphere What a beautiful restaurant next to the ocean. Perfect location to see the sunset. There are many indoor and outdoor areas to sit. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with classy furniture and warm lighting. Food Absolutely beautiful food so yummy and tasty. Many options for cocktails and the Bar man will come to your table to make certain cocktails. From starters to mains and dessert the food was just amazing. The restaurant is bit pricey but there are other cheaper options as well. Service Excellent service from the time we enter into the restaurant. We felt very welcomed to the place with a beautiful table setting outside over looking the ocean and sunset. Staff were super friendly and attentive at all times. Amy was super nice to us, great customer service. Overall Will definitely visit this place again. What you get is a 5 start service and food.
