Attended for work Christmas party outside in the garden. Parking was difficult. Finger food and cocktails. The staff were really friendly, helpful and professional. The cocktails were delicious (very expensive at $20 each but thankfully I wasn't paying!). Love the atmosphere and the garden was a lovely spot for a casual get together. The food however wasn't good. The duck rice paper rolls smelled very strange (something in them had a rotten smell) and tasted awful and the raw tuna on wafers wasn't particularly nice either and was left on a table, outside, in almost 40 degree heat. The only nice food was the chicken and beef skewers. There weren't any sweet/dessert options either. There was apparently meant to be plenty of food as many people didn't end up attending but there wasn't much at all. We were all very disappointed and all left hungry and went to Maccas on the way home! I have been to the Goldmines for a different workplace function a few years ago and wasn't impressed with the food then either.

The gorgeous gardens, and building were picturesque. The food you provided was absolutely delicious and everyone couldn’t stop talking about it! No one went hungry and had full bellies and satisfied tastebuds! Our best to your fantastic chef! Amy, you are amazing. You made the process easy, smooth and stress free. You’re a professional in every right that every bride needs in her corner during the process! I’m so glad we got to celebrate our marriage in your beautiful gardens and that you got to bear witness with us. We are truely grateful for you 🤍

Outstanding venue, from the time we walked in and we were welcomed with such a warm and friendly greeting. The gardens are just beautiful, so serene private and peaceful. The service was exemplary, staff were friendly, helpful and we did not wait or want for anything. The food was divine, and definitely the best we have had for a very long time. Highly recommend this beautiful restaurant and we cannot wait to come back to visit again.

We had our wedding at the Gold Mines hotel on November 1st, 2025, and it was nothing short of absolutely perfect. Amy, Kate and all of the staff made our day absolutely spectacular, from setting up on the day, to helping us make decisions, nothing was too much of a hassle. Amy was alway happy to answer our questions throughout the whole process of wedding planning, even if we thought they were silly, and no request was too challenging! With our decorations, the already stunning venue was merely accentuated to be the exact intimate and elegant celebration we had dreamt of. The food at the reception was immaculate, and so many of our guests told us it was the best food they had ever been served at a wedding, many saying they couldn’t finish their meals (meaning nobody had to do a sneaky McDonald’s run after) We had looked at so many venues around Bendigo for our wedding, and the Gold mines was the only one that met what we were looking for, and took the pressure of finding a perfect venue away instantly. If we could do it again, we would have skipped looking elsewhere and gone straight here. Thankyou Amy and team, you made our day one we will never forget!

This lovely hotel has a spacious backyard with outdoor seating, surrounded by trees, flowers, and lush greenery. It was such a comfortable spot to enjoy a meal, especially with the beautiful sunny weather. The setting is also perfect for taking photos. The service was warm and welcoming, and the food was great too. A wonderful experience overall!
