As always the food was absolutely fantastic, beautiful surrounds and the staff impeccable. So friendly, patient and helpful. We have been to La Belle Vie a few times before for dinner and this was the first time we came for lunch. The special lunch menu is well worth a try. We had the three courses which came with a lovely glass of wine. And there was plenty of vegetarian options to choose from.
We came for our anniversary and the staff made it super special. We had the best seat in the house, in the corner with the beautiful view. The filet was amazingly tender and juicy and the duck confit was fantastic as well. Great service as well and they made a big deal of our anniversary which was really kind
{La Belle Vie | Refined French Dining in Brisbane} Nestled away from Brisbane’s bustling riverside scene, La Belle Vie stands as one of the city’s rare restaurants offering panoramic hillside views rather than riverfront vistas — a refreshing change that perfectly complements its refined French cuisine. From the moment you step inside, you’re greeted by an atmosphere of calm sophistication. The dining room is bright, pristine, and quietly elegant — the kind of space that allows the food and company to truly shine. The menu showcases classic French craftsmanship with modern finesse. The duck breast is an absolute highlight — perfectly seared to reveal a crisp golden skin, while the meat remains tender and succulent, paired with a delicate reduction sauce that balances richness and acidity beautifully. Equally impressive is the French-style beef pot (boeuf bourguignon), slow-cooked to melt-in-your-mouth perfection, brimming with layers of deep, comforting flavor. Don’t miss the escargots, served with fragrant garlic butter and crusty French bread — a simple yet divine indulgence that captures the heart of French dining. While I stumbled upon La Belle Vie by chance, one visit was all it took to make me a loyal patron. The service is warm and attentive without ever feeling intrusive, and the owner’s genuine hospitality makes every guest feel at home. La Belle Vie is not just a restaurant — it’s a love letter to French cuisine, delivered with elegance, heart, and a touch of Brisbane charm.
All things french & joint Birthday celebrations 🎂 - simply perfection. Great brisbane skyline views. All meals (french onion soup, scallops, confit duck +), le gourmand deserts mini selection & champagne 🍾 were delicious and better than expected, making the ultimate dining experience for all. Thanks 😋🥂
I’ll start by saying it was probably a 3:5 star experience but to put 3 here would be unfair. We got the degustation with wine pairing, plus a glass of bubbles and beer to kick off with. It was overall good, but not $450 awesome as you’d expect with this price point. The good; The service was wonderful and attentive, without being too intrusive. The gravlax was nice, the chicken and mushroom awesome and the poached apple was delicious, plus the bread was superb! The riesling was the best wine, closely followed by the dessert wine. The not so good; I found a few of the dishes both underwhelming and very small (I do understand it was degustation) the raclette needs to go, as does the camembert, which was ridiculously small. The scallop was nice but just too small to be anything and it didn’t really scream French to me. As a French experience maybe put some escargot and some foie gras, as it would be a great introduction to these little delights and it was my partner’s first experience at a French restaurant….I wanted a total French experience. The other wines didn’t exactly blow my hair back neither. It’s a lovely setting with a well oiled service team that you could not fault, just a few food dishes let it down. We will definitely return but will be just ordering straight from menu next visit, especially as some of the items arriving at other tables looked wonderful. As I said at the start when you spend $450 on lunch, it needs to be bloody awesome….not just good.
