Food came out quickly, professional service and fancy atmosphere. We had the duck with a salad on the side and it was absolutely YUMMY!! Deep flavour, orange gravy and the duck was cooked to perfection. I deeply appreciated the taste of real food that doesnโt taste like some processed ingredients/sauces/spices. Beautiful experience and feels more expensive than it is! Only $15 more than a pizza and you have this delightful dinner. Thank you!
An unusually focused Frenchie that has dedicated one third of its short menu to tartines. But everything it offers is really good. Today, I had a scallop tartare - beautiful to look at, very fresh, generous and lovely in texture. The prawn tartine is warm, the prawns are big and juicy, aioli and brioche provide some filling substance, pickled zucchini some tanginess and crunch. Paris Brest is a perfect finish for a light summer dinner. The team is attentive and friendly, the venue is cosy, the wine list tempting - but Perrier is also refreshingly bubbly.
My parents and I visited Tartine for dinner and it was just okay, perhaps even disappointing given the price tag. I love the venue; a modern, bistro-style heritage conversion. The food was well cooked, and well presented, but was sometimes lacking in the flavor department. The beef tartare and the seared tuna were both in desperate need of additional seasoning. The mushroom gnocchi packs a punch, however, the texture made we wonder how long the gnocchi had been sitting out before it was cooked. Mum's serving of duck was a bit tough and she didn't get so much as an apology when she mentioned it to the waiter (who was otherwise attentive and friendly). We ordered all three of the desserts. I would highly recommend the French brest (although it's very rich, so one serve would be enough two or even three people) and the creme brulee was decent, however, the Tarte Tatin was a bit disappoining. As Mum likes to say, a slice of Tarte Tatin is never as good as one that has been individually baked. Tartine has a solid foundation, but there is certainly room for improvement.
Came here for dinner and ordered the grilled prawn tartine, the barramundi dish, and the Paris Brest dessert. Starting with the tartine, the grilled prawns were fresh with a nice snappy texture, and the pickled zucchini added some acidity to balance the richness of the aioli and the sweet buttery brioche. For mains, the barramundi had a crispy pan-fried skin and the meat was tender and moist. It was served with a creamy sauce drizzled with herb oil, and paired with a slightly tart and hearty ratatouille consisting of tomato, onion, eggplant, zucchini and capers which was very flavoursome. Finally for the Paris Brest, the choux was soft and fluffy, coated with a crunchy hazelnut praline, and filled with a slightly thick and rich diplomat caramel cream which was not too sweet. Overall it was a very tasty meal and the service was friendly and attentive with water refilled as needed.
Came back here again for a pre-event dinner and we were greeted by a very friendly staff. We ordered their signature tartines again - the ham, tomato, prawns and the crab meat with green apple. They were all delicious. The baked Camembert cheese on brioche bread with sausage was criminal, so good.... The special ribeye was cooked perfectly and the duck was nice. This time the gnocchi was great! We finished off again with a nice creme brulee and an apple tarte. We enjoyed the dinner and the kitchen was able to deliver our meals in a timely manner for our event. Thankyou.
