Had a great experience at The Grapes Hotel. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, the staff were friendly and attentive, and the service was spot on. Food was delicious with generous portions, and everything came out fresh and well presented. It’s a great place to stop in for a meal or a drink, whether you’re local or just passing through. Will definitely be back and would highly recommend it.

We haven't been here for 12 months, they are clearly feeling the pinch as all pubs are. Our waitress was friendly & attentive but clearly the kitchen is cutting corners. We ordered fish, chips and salad and calamari, salad and chips. The chips were delicious & hot. The salads came in very small ramicans, not over dressed , with little chunks of feta, tomato, finely sliced red onion, finely sliced yellow pepper & cucumber on top of mixed leaves, nothing like the genious salads we were used to in the past. The calamari was delicious & cooked perfectly but it was a very small amount for a main. If I hadn't have shared my fish hubby would have been hungry & he's not a big eater. Now the fish. The batter was crisp but VERY oily & the fish itself was quite 'fishy' or strong in flavour. There was 2 large fillets & when I enquired what type of fish it was I was told that they only serve flat head fillets. They'd either run out & used something else or their supplier had lied. Flat head is a beautiful delicate tasting fish, NOTHING like the meal I'd received. So in summary it will probably be another 12 months till we return to see if the kitchen has improved 🫤
