The Turret is hands down THE BEST breakfast you can possibly find in Ballarat. Trust me, I've tried them all and none compare to how amazing The Turret is. I'm usually a Toast and Eggs guy with some bacon and hash browns and The Turret do the best version of this. From the amazing farm fresh eggs to the in house sourdough toast it is a genuine treat whenever I decide to go grab a breakfast here. The staff are always absolutely fantastic, super friendly and very attentive. They genuinely make you feel extremely comfortable and put you in a better mood just being there. The atmosphere of the restaurant is also lovely with a very old school vibe. I often find myself sitting there a while after my meal just to soak up the setting for a bit! I guarantee you that you won't be disappointed if you visit The Turret. I can't speak for the lunch or dinner as I've only had breakfast there so far but if that's what you are looking for I assure that you can trust this review. The. Best. Breakfast. 😁

Visited twice in a week 1st time coffee & carrot cake Delicious. 2nd visit was lunch with the outlaws, Fritters delicious, Bunger was huge with a side of chips, Buttermilk pancake husband struggled to eat he thought it was a bit dry however it looked beautiful. Coffee was the Best I have found in Ballarat. Will definitely be back soon. Apologies I didn't take photo's however have added one from their website the bunger looks exactly the same as photo.

Had an incredible experience at Turret for a wedding (with the best food I’ve ever had at a wedding) and decided I had to come back for breakfast, which is definitely the best decision I’ve made in a while. The brekkie burger is absolutely delicious and a really generous size and the coffee is perfect. Combine that with a gorgeous setting and super friendly service and you’ve got a place that I will be itching to visit whenever I am in Ballarat!

Had a great experience at The Turret Café & Catering. The coffee was smooth and perfectly made, the risotto was rich and full of flavour, and Hugo’s double burger was spot-on — juicy and full of that classic comfort-food taste. The service was friendly and quick, and the atmosphere relaxed and welcoming. Would definitely come back again — and next time I’m trying the scones! 😋

Visited Turret Café on a Sunday and was really impressed from start to finish. The service was amazing — the staff were attentive, genuinely friendly, and created a welcoming vibe that made the whole experience even better. The café itself has a lovely atmosphere, perfect for a relaxed weekend meal. The food was the real highlight. The beef rendang pie was packed with flavour, with tender beef and just the right amount of spice. The Turret meatballs were also a standout, hearty and well-seasoned, making it a great dish to share. Everything came out fresh and beautifully presented. It’s definitely a place worth coming back to, and I’m already looking forward to trying more from their menu next time.
