Decided to pop in to Tulip (as it was listed on the AGFG) on the way to the GOR. First of all, wow. The Beef tartare ๐. A simply must try. We were so impressed we ordered it again! Overall the snacks here were amazing. In no particular order of yummyness: - Scallops was ok, wished the scallops were grilled - think it would have tasted better - Prawn sandwich, though it would be grilled again ๐ฆ - Chick Pea Panise - Yum! - Sourdough bread ๐ - Yummmm! - Capacollo & Stracciatella - cheese and Cured meats combo was excellent - Barramundi fish with Bisque - good! - Tomato salad was ok - Chicken Pate was great ๐ liver taste wasn't too strong - Calamari with XO was good but a very odd dish - didn't go with anything else (not much Asian influence in the other dishes made this a weird special). On its own it was great. You can easily book online but parking can be a problem if it's a busy night!
We had a great time and the whole menu was delicious. I like a very unfashionable Martini and it was brilliant to see one on the cocktail menu. We will be back. thanks!
My partner and I had the degustation menu with wine matching. We also went for the Wagyu upgrade and extra Truffle. Everything is delicious and loved every bit of it. The wine is nicely paired and itโs easy to drink. The service is immaculate! Special mention to the two young ladies serving us, A big thank you!
Since the rebrand weโve been hanging to head back to Tulip, and it didnโt disappoint. Our group of four had the chefโs selection, and we had one plant based requirement on the table ( ๐โโ๏ธ guilty ), to which they catered beautifully. The food was fresh, flavourful and the service warm and welcoming. They were super busy ( which we love seeing in our local community! ) so would recommend booking ahead. Stand out for the plant based dishes was the cauliflower with harissa and the iceberg wedge whilst the rest of the table loved the kingfish with shiso, lemon and ginger and the Black Angus with hot miso mustard. We had a gorgeous night and really enjoyed our time ๐ซ 10/10 recommend for a wholesome evening.
Tulip certainly deserves its awards and recognitions as a great restaurant. Our experience for dinner was spot on. Quite casual, but very good personal service and great food. If I had to pick the best food from our tasting menu it would be the lamb and the beautiful jus it was served withโฆ.however each course was great. A few pictures from our chefs choice menu
